This full text database on business and economic information is excellent for international trade research. It draws materials from EIU business newsletters, EIU country reports/profiles and EIU publications such as Financing Foreign Operations and Investing, Licensing & Trading Conditions Abroad.

Singapore Trade Connection (STC)
Contains up-to-date detailed Singapore external trade statistics, a directory of Singapore exporters, and country profiles. Produced by the Singapore Trade Development Board.

World Development Indicators
Presents 600 indicators in 80 tables, organized in six sections: overview, people, environment, economy, states and markets, and global links. The tables cover 148 economies, with basic indicators for a further 62 economies.

Compilation of macro-economic statistical data for 209 countries. DataPro Communications Analyst
This full-text database contains general reports, comparison charts and product reports on data networking and the management of data networks. There is in-depth coverage of technologies and trends, standards, management issues and strategies, and vendors. The search facility also searches on computing publications like BYTE and LAN Times.

IEEE/IEE Electronic Library (IEL)
IEL is a full text database covering materials from more than 100 IEEE and IEE journals, 700 conference proceedings, and 600 standards published by the IEEE. It is an excellent source of information on: physics, electrical engineering, electronics, conferences, computer and control, information technology and standards

INSPEC Electronics and Computing
Covers all aspects of electronics, electrical engineering, computing, control, robotics, office automation, telecommunications, software engineering and information technology. The information is culled from a large number of technical journals, conference proceedings, books, reports and dissertations.

Maritime Technology Abstracts
This CD-ROM comprises two bibliographic databases by British Maritime Technology and the Institute of Marine Engineers. It has altogether more than 50,000 abstracts dating from 1940. The records are culled from major engineering publications and topics covered include marine safety, naval architecture, pollution from ships, ship board management and computers in the marine industry.

New Scientist
This CD-ROM contains full-text articles encompassing all issues of New Scientist from 1989. It also stores over 2,000 diagrams and graphics and the entire Inside Science series.

Specification 95
This CD-ROM contains (1) technical information, specification clauses and tables of products plus manufacturers related to the building industry, (2) indexes for the Architects' Journal, and (3) synopses of 265 publications from the Energy Efficiency Office's Best Practice Programme, plus 15 full-text documents.

ASTM Standards Source
This database consists of (1) an index disc storing document summaries from over 9,000 standards published by the ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials), and (2) the page images of all current ASTM standards. The standards can be searched for easily and quickly by words in the title or by standard numbers.

International Statistical Yearbook

Provides hundreds of time series on every aspects of economic and social life in over 200 countries and areas around the world.

World Marketing Data and Statistics
Contains a wide variety of marketing topics, ranging from demographic trends and forecasts to socio-economic indicators for labour force, industrial resources to transport infrastructure, travel and tourism, etc. for the world. The information is based on the two hardcopy editions of European Marketing Data and Statistics and International Marketing Data and Statistics.

SMC Ondisc
An index to three databases with information relating to Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei and ASEAN(as an entity). These three databases are Perind, Singapore/Malaysian Collection and NUS Theses Collection. Covers a wide range of subjects from the humanities and social sciences to architecture, building, law and medicine.
